Jersey Africa Projects donates media equipment to Kanifing Hospital

The Jersey Africa project based in UK, through Hon. Momodou S. Ceesay National Assembly Member for Janjangbureh constituency donated medical equipment to Kanifing General Hospital.

The items include scanners, Ultra- sound machine, hospital beds, wheel chairs just to name a few.  The items are geared toward boosting the health sector of the Gambia.

Speaking at the presentation Isatou Tamba, Head of operation theatre .at Kanifing General Hospital expressed delight to receive this donation on behalf of the KG hospital from the donors and its Gambian counterpart Hon. Ceesay.

She described this donation as very timely and is a worthy course to receive this sophisticated equipment.

According to her this equipment will no doubt go a long way in serving the hospital. We as a government or country want to buy this equipment but it is very expensive, and these are materials that you cannot just go to the market and buy them. Therefore, with the intervention of

Mr. Sankung  K.T Jaiteh  Human Resources s manager Kanifing General  hospital applauded the donor Susan  Davey- Macdonold  chairperson of the Jarsey Africa Project  for supporting the hospital with this expensive equipments.

“We are very much delighted to receive these items on behalf of the Management of Kanifing General hospital and we assure the donors that these items will be put into good use.

Jaiteh encouraged well-wishers, philanthropists to give more support to the Gambian health sector.

He said considering our hospital, there are so many materials are, lacking, but with the support of all and sundry, it will help to boost our health sector.

Momodou S. Ceesay, National Assembly Member for Janjangbureh constituency highlighted the numerous activities projects that Susan through her project is embarking in the Gambia.

According to him, this is not the first time that Sudan is supporting the people of this country, as Janjanbureh hospital Bansang, Banjul hospitals all benefited from his donations.

He commended Susan and her friends for mobilizing this equipment meant to boost the Health sector the Gambia.

“We are really grateful to her and we assured her that this equipment will be utilized as expected,” he said.

For her part, Susan DAVEY-Macdonald chairperson of Jersey Africa Project, said her priority and objective to ensure that her charity support the health sector of the Gambia.

She assured to give more support to the people of the Gambia come next year more equipment will come to the Gambia.
