Ex- President Yahya Jammeh has call from his asylum base in Equatorial Guinea to caution and threatens natives of his home village Kanilai to desist from what he described as “witch hunting.”
In a telephone conversation he allegedly accused the peoples of Kanilai of involvement in spiritual means against to make him stay away from the Gambia for the rest of his life.
Addressing his Compatriots in strong words, Jammeh who rule the Gambia for 22 years urges his close relatives (name withheld), and asked him to converged the people at the village Bantaba where he addressed them via the phone on a loud speaker.
Speaking in Jola and shouting with anger Jammeh strictly warned those he assumed as his enemies to desist from what they are doing spiritually against him.
He accused his villagers of collaborating with enemies and fabricating lies against him for their selfish interest only.
The former Gambian leader who was defeated in the country popular on December 2,2016, further accused the natives of Kanilai involvement in stealing his personal belongings and destroying them out of bad mind and jealous. He threatens them that he will deal with all those involved upon his return to the Gambia.
A source said Jammeh used foul language against the people gathered at the Bantaba and threatens them that he is coming back sooner than they expected.
Source disclosed that some of the villagers who felt insulted walked away from the Bantaba whiles others stayed to listen to his empty threats. As for some they took the threats seriously but for some he is just an empty barrel making empty noise.
