Cuba Ambassador to The Gambia, Sr. Ruben G. Abelenda, has pointed out that Cuba won’t give up its principles and won’t stop demanding the Seizure imposed to Cuba by the United States of America.
Speaking at a Press conference held at the Cuba Embassy on Wednesday, Sr. Ruben described the economical, trade and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States against Cuba for almost six decades, as most unfair, severe prolonged unilateral sanction system implemented against any country in the world.
‘’Since the establishment of this decision, the Cuban economical activities have been strongly impacted, mainly the ones related to the foreign trade operations and the foreign investments’’, he said.
He pointed out that, the current United States government behaviour constitutes an affront to the international community who has condemned the blockade against Cuba for more than 27 consecutive years in the United Nations Assembly.
According to him, the blockade constitutes a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the Cuban human rights.
‘’Because of the declared intension of the administrative, legal and political structure in which it is supported, these sanctions qualified as a genocide act judged by the convention for prevention and sanctioning the genocide crime in 1948’’
‘’The United States should end without any condition, the unfair blockade that has provoked sufferings to the Cuban people for more than 60 years’’ he stressed
Sr. Ruben explained that, the Cuba Government will present once more in the general Assembly of the United Nations on November 6th and 7th, 2019, the resolution project titled: ‘’Necessity to stop the economical, trade and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America government against Cuba’’.
He said Cuba is grateful to the international community who has demanded to stop this illegal, genocide and extraterritorial policy.
Dr. Qnaris Odio Mosqueda, head of the Cuba medical Team, said from the very begging of the blockade against Cuba, the health sector has been a prioritized objective of the United States Government aggressions.
‘’The blockade obstructs the acquisition of new technologies, raw material, reagents, diagnostic means as well as medicine for the treatment of critical diseases such as cancer’’ she alluded.
She explained that, between April 2018 and March 2019 the importing and exporting company of medical products MEDICUBA SA made requests to 57 American companies to acquire the necessary supplies for their health system.
