Kombo North Fula vow to setup Capital Fulbeh Association

More than seven Fula communities within Kombo North are in the process of setting up a new Association called Capital Fulbeh Association.  The association comprises only Fula’s  communities within the West coast Region, aim at promoting the welfare and advancement of the Fula’s in the country.

The objective of the association is to bring all fulas communities under a single umbrella and discuss issues of great concern that are affecting the Fula within the society and see how best to resolve those issues through collectively.

The formation of this association is one of the tools that its members can use to bring all the Fula closer to each other in term of marriage ceremony, naming ceremony, festival and avoid other circumstance that will affect their welfare.  The Association comprise both men and women and it’s have a total of 26 executive council.

Speaking during a recent meeting held at Latriya village, the newly elected president of the association Mr. Ali Ceesay,  said one of the issues that the executive expressed is the need for more commitment, dedication and sacrifice to the welfare of this Association.

He explained that the association is working very hard during their weekly meeting to develop its constitution and ensure that it is done for registration, adding that currently they are putting certain condition on the executive members that each and every one of them should pay or contribute five hundred dalasi toward the welfare of the association.

He indicated that the said association is a non political, and is open for every Fula man or women.

According to him, the objective of this association is to promote our culture, through education and the essence of this association is to bring most of the Fula people on board and support each other through contribution their small resources together for the common interest.

Samba Sowe from, a resident of Tawto a member said they attached a lot of the importance attach to this association   to ensure its sustainability.

He urged them to be cooperative and support each other and increase more members to the association. He further urged them to be law abiding association, committed, dedicated and sacrifices.

Mr, Jatta Ceesay, a member stressed the need to promote the Fula language and be proud of it. He also commended the president of the association, while deserving him as a trust worthy person, who have the Fula community at heart.
