43rd African Youth Forum Opens Today

The third African Youth Forum Organize by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, UNESCO  OHCHR, other United Nations agencies, CODESRIA, Trust Africa, ARITLE 19 and the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation, in close collaboration with the Gambia Government, PAYNCOP and the African Commission on Human and People’s Right (ACHPR)open today Monday at Paradise Suite Hotel

The two day forum is host under the theme for this year’s Forum is “Engaging young African leaders in the implementation of the 2030 and 2063 agendas”.

As a fellow-up to the previous session, the aim of forum is to institutionalize an open space for reflection and interaction between the different actors of African Youth, including intergenerational dialogue. This essentially is to find the best practices to “Accelerate positive social transformation for a democratic, prosperous, inclusive and peaceful Africa”.

In a press release from UNESCO signed by Maimuna Sidibeh explained that this event, young African leaders will be able to draw from the main challenges related to the covered topics and the necessary synergies to tackle collectively the identified issues.

She added that will bring together youth leaders from Youth Organization and Networks, young researchers, young artists, young activists, young entrepreneurs, young governmental and intergovernmental actors, as well as public decision-makers, representative of AU, ECOWAS, the United Nations Agencies, the Civil Society Organisations, the private sector, universities, and other local and international development partners and foundations from all over Africa and the Diaspora.
