As tourism is one of the best pathways to self-employment and sustainability, the Association of Small Scale Enterprises in Responsible Tourism (ASSERT) in partnership with the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) will Saturday, 2nd November launch the second edition of this year Gambia’s Good Market.
The launching and the commencement of the monthly market will take place at the Front of Petroleum House, Brusubi Turntable
The Gambia’s Good Market is meant to create a sustainable tourism product and it will feature varieties of locally made products by young Gambian entrepreneurs in fashion, arts and crafts, health and beauty products, accessories, agro processed products and local food.
According to the office of Youth Empowerment Project the Gambia’s Good Market aims to generate employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for Gambian youth. It equally aims to offer tourists, expatriates and locals remarkable collection of quality products.
Among other things the market will highlight an additional display of skills and talents, provides entertainment and demonstrate arts featuring cultural and modern dancers, drumming lessons, hairdressing, weaving, batik, photographic display.
From Saturday, 2nd November onward till May 2020 the monthly exhibition and sales platform will take place every first Saturday of every month.
