One Alieu Fatty a native of Tanji was arrested by officers from the Brusubi Police Station after he (Fatty) insulted the new Supreme Islamic Council President, Sheriff Muhamed Sanusi Nano Hydara while delivering his last week Friday Sermon.
Alieu Fatty, a Quranic teacher at Matida’s Memorial Quranic School in Gunjur recorded his Friday sermon audio after which he sent the viral audio on WhatsApp for the consumption of the general public within and outside the country.
When the audio reached the wide audience, many people in and outside the country were angry as the insult was painful thus warrant the Police at Brusubi to arrest Alieu Fatty on Sunday evening.
He was arrested at Jalanbang village and taken to Brusubi Police Station where he was question as to whether he was the very person who alters those bad words against Sheriff Muhammed Sanusi Nano Hydara and Rawdatul Majaalis organization.
When the Police officer at Brusubi Police Station quizzed him (Alieu Fatty) to explain what has happened, he repeated without fear what he has said on his audio.
He told the Police that one Rawdatul Majaalis member one’s insulted Imam Abdoulie Fatty this was why he revenge by describing Rawdatul Majaalis as a trouble maker organization and also alters bad words against Sheriff Muhammed Sanusi Nano Hydara through audio.
The officer then put to him that what he has done was wrong, but that does not go well with his (Fatty’s) camp present at the Station which also causes bitter argument between Fatty supporters, Police and Sheriff Muhammed Sanusi Nano Hydara’s camps.
The said Police officer also put to Fatty that calling yourself as a Muslim, you shouldn’t use your Friday Sermon to castigate people but he (Fatty) still maintained his words without any signs of surrendering to what he has said in his audio.
According to our reporter who was at the station on Sunday described the situation at the station as was very tense because Alieu Fatty’s did not to take the blame.
By the time of going to press, Alieu Fatty was granted bailed by his seniors.
