Moses Sanneh, a floriculturist has advised Gambians not to listen to the 3years jotna saying their action could jeopardise peace of and ruin business in the country.
Speaking to The Voice in an interview, Mr Sanneh said: “Gambians should neglect the issue of 3years jotna and focus on the 5years or else many businesses will be affected including the floriculture sector.”
He urged the 3years movement to denounced their position and allow peace to prevail, lamenting that most of their customers are tourist and Gambians-based in Europe who only buy from them during the tourists’ season.’
According to him, this is the time for ‘semesters’ purchase handful of flowers from them and decorate their settlements.
“I have been in the field for 26 years and that’s where I earn my living, and I created job employment for more than 20 youths in the Gambia and they are doing extremely well,” he said.
“Flowers have no specific price depending on the type and size you want because normal price starts from D10-250. I therefore urge all youths to engage in business because no business is small! I was a sale boy, and now I’m a master of my own. Through this business I was able to buy car and take care of all my necessities,” he said.
“I used to work at the Sangle France as a sale boy and his salary was just D150. From there, he has the interest of engaging in floriculture. However, flowers have different verities among them there are few verities that people often buy in row,” he said.
