The Gambia Revenue Authority on Wednesday organized a day long consultative Forum on the draft corporate strategic plan for 2020-2024 at a Kairaba Hotel.
The consultative forum aimed at soliciting inputs from the relevant stakeholders with a view of enriching the authority’s draft corporate strategic plan 2020-2024.
Speaking at the Forum, Yankuba Darboe Commissioner General of GRA said the draft corporate strategic plan embodies the authority’s vision, mission, values, strategic goals, objectives and activities.
“This forum therefore provides an opportunity for us to hear your views and receive your inputs”, he said.
He explained that it’s meant to come up with the draft GRA corporate plan as several preparatory work were done including the conduct of a service delivery survey between the 4th quarter of 2018 and the 1st quarter 2019.
He pointed out that, as part of the environmental scanning exercise, the Authority carry out a pestel analysis that examined the potential impacts of the environment in which they operate.
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Finance and Economic, Modou Secka said, there is hardly any institution that would succeed in its mandate without the guidance of a strategic plan to provide the roadmap and strategies for achieving its objective.
“GRA recognize this fact, in that regard has spent valuable time over the past months to come up with the draft that is up for review today”, he added.
He further explained that, the Ministry of Finance as the line Ministry of GRA will provide the usual support to GRA to ensure that it achieves the objective and embodied in the draft plan.
Mrs. Lucy Faye Jagne, Board Chairperson of GRA, said the Strategic plan place before them by GRA management, contribute both a direction and a challenge.
“We at GRA board and management see it as a challenge that must be confronted head-on in the interest of the authority and The Gambia”, she said.
