Gambia to host 4 nations Zone II beach Volleyball Olympic qualifiers

The Gambia will host four nations of Zone II beach Volleyball Olympic qualifiers in Banjul from November 21 to26 2019, Dodou Bai Jallow president of The Gambia Volleyball Federation confirmed here today Tuesday.

Mali, Sierra Leone, Guinea and host The Gambia will be battling for the top three spot that will get ticket to the next round of the qualifications, before appearing at the continental cup finals. In 2016 both the women and men teams of  The Gambia came near as they finished 8 in Africa, with only one ticket for Africa.

Continental   cup ’is a culmination of the series of competitions held in each continent that provided an opportunity to all federations to compete at the highest level in an open system that books a ticket to the Olympic Games.

Gambia had invited Qatar-based Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra to join home based stars Amadou Jarju and Jahara Koita for the national duty.
