Pressure: President Barrow Finally Recognize 3 Years Jotna

Lastly, with continues pressure from Operation 3Years Jotna (meaning 3years reached) President Adama Barrow and his government has come down and agreed to dialogue with movement that calling on him  to relinquish power come 16th December.

Government spokesperson Ebrima G. Sankareh revealed that government has agreed to dialogue with officials and organizers of 3years Jotna, saying that it’s their democratic rights to peacefully demonstrate.He pointed that the group held a successful, civil and fruitful confab with government officials, noting that eventually every party wants the best for The Gambia.

Expressing concerns over fear that holds the business community and the tourism industry in the country over the much talk about protest, he revealed that government is reviewing the movement permit application and perhaps the office of the Inspector General of Police may grant a peaceful procession permit pending the outcome of a scheduled meeting with Interior.

“The issuing of any permit is consistent with government’s position to respect the protesters’ constitutional rights while equally safeguarding public safety and security. Therefore, the business community, diplomatic missions and the larger community are all assured that their safety and security remain paramount,” Sankareh pointed out.
