Halifa Sallah Should Apologise For Creating Confusion- Says 3Yrs Jotna

Bakary Trawally, a staunch supporter of the Operation ‘Three Years Jotna’ has responded to Halifa Sallah, barely three days after the Serrekunda Central Lawmaker asked Operation Three Years movement to explained to the Gambians whether they have the intention of overthrowing President Adama Barrow’s government on 20th January, 2020 if he failed to step-down on the 19th January 2020, as he promised during his 2016 Presidential bid.

Trawally, frowns at the Serrekunda Lawmaker, demanding him to  rather apologise to Gambians for coming up with the idea of three years, arguing that if the Coalition agreed on a one term of five years Gambians could have avoided this confusing situation.

The US-Based Gambian activist and staunch supporter of Operation Three Years Jotna argues that the Serrekunda lawmaker has no rights to asked whether Operation Three Years Jotna movement has the intention of overthrowing President Adama Barrow as he already has the answers to the question for been the chief architect who designed and implement the three years project.

He blamed Halifa Sallah for coming up with the proposed coalition 2016 three years agenda against the wishes of other political parties and the independent presidential candidate in the build up to the coalition 2016.

He alleged that Sallah blocked the idea of five years one term plan proposed by Alhagie Darboe of UDP and Dr. Isatou Touray an independent candidate in favour of his marshal plan of three years.

According to Trawally, during the build-up to the coalition 2016 agreement Hon. Halifa Sallah insisted that if his three years proposal is not considered PDOIS will not take part, arguing that now that Hon. Sallah’s marshal plan is back-firing what he should honourably do is to apologise  to Gambians for creating the confusion around the three or five years.

“Hon. Sallah should stop beating around the bush and apologise to Gambian for causing the state of confusion because the three years we are trapped in, is his own idea. It is his idea that is causing the confusion in the country. Halifa of all Halifa Sallah conceive this idea of three years; it was him who gave birth to this three years idea. Therefore, Halifa Sallah cannot run away from the answer and should be honourable enough to give the answers to the Gambians because the three years idea is his own baby,” Trawally argued.

He added: “All the players in the Coalition 2016 said they are in for five years but it was only Halifa Sallah who insisted on three years. So it is very funny, if Halifa of all Halifa Sallah to come out to asked a question that he himself should answer. Is his idea, he should explain whether his idea is leading to an overthrow of government or not?”

He revealed that the UDP representative at the Coalition discussion, Hon. Alagie Darboe as well as Dr. Isatou Touray, Independent presidential candidate Dr. Isatou Touray, all vie for five years. ‘Halifa insisted on the three years and even threaten that PDOIS will not take part if his t three years idea is not endorsed’.

“If the three years issue brings any problem in the country, it is Halifa Sallah who is the cause of the problem. Three years project is Halifa Sallah’s own brain-child and any question that comes along with it, that question should be answer by no one other than Halifa Sallah himself but not the ‘Three Years Jotna’Movement,” Trawally  pointed out.

According to him, Three Years Jotna is merely responding to the calls of Halifa Sallah for the President to serve for three years only and step down.

“We have no plan to over throw the government of Adama Barrow. We don’t want to over throw the government as he Halifa did to Sedia Jatta by relying on Jammeh’s 65year age limit. All we want is for the President to honourably step down just as it is stipulated in this Three Years coalition 2016 plan designed by him,” he pointed out.
