Network of Financial and Tax Reporters Network were engaged on sharing information about institutional mandates that sought to bringing private and public sector under a single platform in working with the media.
The network seeks to establishing strong collaboration with Revenue Administration to enhance tax education and awareness including supporting domestic resources mobilization, important of tax payment to government and, the devastating effect of anti-money laundering.
The one-day forum brough together senior officials of Gambia Revenue Authority, Gambia Bankers Association, and media chiefs.
President of the network, Abdoulie Nyokeh said “we believe we have an important role to play in helping to protect our financial and economy system from money laundering and terrorist threats”,
He said principal aim of the network is to established to collaborating with financial institutions in the country including public and commercial banks, insurance companies and microfinance institutions.
He explained that, the NFTR Gambia Chapter is committed to make the general public aware about money laundering, terrorist financing and the danger they pose to the society.
