Deputy spokesman of APRC has responded to critics of being entitled to their opinion and that his party doesn’t care much about what they say.
APRC is seeking a permit to demand the return of former President Yahya Jammeh who has been living in exile in Equatorial Guinea since he lost 2016 presidential elections.
However, some people lambasted the party over their demand to bring Jammeh home as ‘disrespect to human rights.’
In an exclusive interview Doudou Jah on today [yesterday] said: “we don’t care much about what people say, is their own opinion because they are entitled to their opinion, and the police shouldn’t be driven by what people are saying [but] they [police] should go by what the law says.”
“Everybody is entitled to their opinion and everybody is free to speak their mind. For them that is what they are advocating for that we shouldn’t be giving a permit, but it is firstly to look into our application because when you apply for permit there are issues you [would] state which would make them [police] to accept you or reject you,” he added.
He said his party knows what the law says adding “what makes somebody to be rejected or not rejected when you apply for a permit.”
