The Minister of Health has said that the Gambia Government under the leadership of President Barrow is poise to standardise Health care services delivery in the Country.
Dr, Ahmadou Lamin Samateh, Minister of Health accompanied by his Senior Management Team at the Health Ministry make this statement in the upper Baddibou village of Daru Riwan.
Official says the purpose of the day long tour was meant to get first-hand information on the state of Health care services in various Health Facilities in the North Bank Region.
The Top Health Officials Visited Six Health Facilities including the Health clinic in the upper Baddibou Village of Nawlerr and Daru Riwan as Kerr Ardo and Kerewan in Lower Baddibou respectively.
Speaking at various communities meetings, Minister Samateh said President Barrow’s Government inherited quip a lot of challenges in the health sector but quickly noted that efforts are ongoing despite the challenges ahead.
“We inherited quip a lot challenges in the Health sector and that is not easy because health care is very expensive and most of what we use come from outside,” he said
“But none the less we have started to address them one by one because the people of this country deserves adequate standardise health care service delivery for the various communities. We all need standardise health Care no matter where we are be in develop or developing Country,” he emphases.
Minister Samateh disclosed that his Ministry will rehabilitated and expand the building infrastructures in three Health Facilities Nawlerr, Daru Riwan and Kerr Ardo Village respectively.
“Most of the facilities president Barrow met where dilapidated and that they need to be renovated and the process is ongoing. If you look at the news papers this on days we are advertising for the renovation of various health faculties. And once the process is done we will renovate and upgrade all health facilities in this country and where they did not exist we will start constructing them,” he stated.
Dr Samateh disclosed that his Ministry will also go in for the procurement of more Ambulances project to be station in Various Health Facility and noted this pilot project will commence in the North Bank Region.
He noted that the Country’s resources are grossly inadequate but his Health Ministry will shoulder the procurement of Ambulance due to its significances in the lives and livelihood of Gambian.
He indicated that the Gambia Government is in the process of recruiting and the training of more State Enrolment Nurses and Community Health Nurses to be station in various Health facilities in the country and added that his Ministry has and will continue to send Health expects like to various Major Health Facilities in the Country.
Dr Lamin Samateh assures his Ministry’s relentless efforts and when on to describe his tour of Health Facilities as very fulfilling.
Minister Samateh tasks Health Ministry’s Maintenances Unit to take all the necessary details require to facilitate the renovation and upgrading of the Health Facilities in the upper Baddibou Village of Nawlerr and Daru Riwan as well as village Kerr Ardo in the Lower Baddibou District.
