Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, Leader of United Democratic Party (UDP) has hit hard on the leadership of the People’s Democracy Organization for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), describing leaders as phony politicians who have no future in this country as far as politics is concern.
The UDP Leader launched this attack at Latrikunda Sabiji on Friday 10th January, 2020, where he addressed a convergence of U-20 Youths of the UDP just few weeks after leadership of PDOIS blamed his Party of the failures of Coalition 2016.
“Those telling you that the nation is bigger than a political party are making false statements and they are fooling you, why did they formed a political party when they can be activists…….In fact they are political leaders and run for political offices and failed to win and yet telling the people my interest is larger than a political party, that is not true you can’t just win,” UDP Leader throw gibes at PDOIS Leadership.
He added: “Why did they formed their own political party, It is what they want to use it as a vehicle to be able to achieve their desire in the country but once they failed in this mission they now are telling us that they don’t see a political party but The Gambia. I think yesterday they see The Gambia which is why they formed a political party so that they can do something for The Gambia but why are they saying now political parties are not important, is all false, they are just making false statement.”
According to him, enemies of UDP are bends on peddling such false statements in their efforts to bringing the party down, advising that the youths must resist and debunk such false statements meant to portray UDP and its leadership negatively.
“You must resist and debunk such false statements, you must not accept them, they are trying to play with your minds and you must not allow these phony politicians, these politicians who have no futures in this country to manipulate you and play with your minds,” Lawyer Darboe, hits hard at PDOIS Leadership.
Darboe disclosed that the challenge in the hands of the teeming youthful population of the UDP is to work assiduously in making sure that the party emerges in the first round of voting, adding that the target set aside by the UDP is to secure fifty three (53) percent of votes in the forthcoming election.
Darboe disclosed that politics and religion are the same, arguing that politics is nothing other than to support the truth, nothing other than to stand against things that are inimical to the country for the interest of all.
“Anything that is inimical to the country it is fought through politics and politicians,” Darboe argued.
