GTBoard, Diaspora Club Ink MoU To Promote Gambia

In their quest to make The Gambia a foremost among other countries, the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) and Diaspora Club Friday jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will enable them to work together and promote the country to a higher height.

The signed memorandum makes member of the Diaspora Club a goodwill ambassador in whichever countries they reside as they can assist not only the Gambia Tourism Board but the entire Gambia population to achieve their main aims and mandates as desired.

Prior the singing of the MoU, Abdoullie Hydara, Director General of Gambia Tourism Board acknowledged the efforts of the Diaspora Club during the impasse.

He said the country belongs to all the citizens with common objective which is “nation building.” This he noted that either collectively or individually, one can only build a nation when have love and passion for the country.

He went further to commend the Diaspora Club for taken decision to sign a MoU with the GTBoard to partake in the development of tourism in the country. He therefore assured them of the board support “not just on tourism issue but anything relate to Diaspora issue.”

The GTBoard boss reiterated that tourism is a catalyst that can help develop the country, the people individually and collectively. “There is no better person or group that can sell The Gambia than Gambians because no other person or group of people that can know our country better than us,” he disclosed to them.

Ebrima Kujabi, President of Diaspora Club thanked the GTBoard for their acceptance and described the MoU as a ‘milestone’ to both Diaspora Club and GTBoard noting that the ‘opportunities are huge.’

He noted further that in togetherness they will be able to do better things either in tourism sector or any other sectors of the country. He went on that the MoU signed is an opportunity for the club which also empowered them to be able to showcase what GTBoard is doing “it will also be an outlet for GTBoad outside The Gambia,” he stated.

On behalf of the Diaspora Club he assured the Gambia Tourism Board of their readiness to work with them and as well promote the agenda of the GTBoard both collectively and individually.

Other members of the club also made some remarks at the signing ceremony.
