Dozens of women in upper Baddibu and Jokadu have been trained on food processing technique and preservation. The training organized by 4H Gambia aimed to avoiding post-harvest loss.

The partnership with Global Environment Facility has strengthen farmers capacity on resilience building and mitigate effects of climate change, he said.
Fatou Sarr proprietor of Yombeh Natural Products Enterprise in Essau said: “building the capacity of women on food processing in to Wonjo juice and jam, tomato jam and paste, Pepper sauce and ginger to boost value addition.”
She called on women to be proactive in skill acquisition to value addition on agricultural products, noting that it will empower to enhance income and contribute to poverty reduction.
Mdam Sarr hailed the efforts of 4H the Gambia for rolling out capacity development women and youths in acquiring skills that are difficult for rural women on processing and preservation.
Fatou Jammeh of Kubandar of Upper Badibou said the training would reduce burden on collections of firewood and work on the restoration forest and most importantly on developing livelihood skills that would boost food processing and preservation.
