Momodou Cham, businessman has called on Barrow-led government to reduce tax on goods saying they are facing lots of challenges in the business filed.

Speaking to Cham in an exclusive interview said: “The price of the goods sometime is balance citing that even at Europe level when the price are high normal our price also become high as most of our goods  in the Gambia are imported”.

The reason why goods are expensive is because when goods are getting finish so some sellers will use that advantage to increase the price of the goods to the buyers as most of the customers who buy in bulk will capitalize and buy it unnecessarily, he added.

He lamented that: “95% of our business are owned and control by foreigners, and that is a common difficulty we are facing.”

He urged the ministry of trade to adopt price control, so that business can go smoothly as all the shops will be containing the same price on goods while calling on youth to venture into business of the country to help development take place.
