3YJ Leadership Remains Behind Bars, Over 100 Protesters Release

A reliable Gambia Government source has confirmed to The Voice Newspaper that the leadership of the Three Years Jotna Group are still behind police bars following the acquisition of bail application for more than one hundred supporters.

On Sunday one hundred and thirty seven (137) Operation 3 Years Jotna protesters were arrested and detained.

Source said   hundred   protesters were released on bail, while dozens were being processed for their initial court trial, disclosing that the leadership of the group are still behind the bars pending processes of their case

On Sunday, 26th, January, 2020, hundreds of Gambians under the banner of Operation Three Years Jotna converged at the Berthil Harding Highway to protest and demands the resignation of President Adama Barrow over his 2016 election promised.

However, the protest turned violent  some thirty minutes before its official starting time when Paramilitary Police fired tire gas on the protesters and forcefully disperse the  protest thus leading to the admission of more than twenty eight protesters at the Kanifing General hospital for injuries sustained during the forcefully disperse.
