 Ba Kawsu Fofana accuses SIC, Imam Fatty for ordeals at NIA

Top Islamic cleric Imam Bakasu Fofonna has accused Imam Abdoulie Fatty and Supreme Islamic Council for his ordeals at the then National Intelligent Agency.

Testifying before Truth Reconciliation and Reparation Commission Thursday, he said his problem started with SIC but Imam Fatty own is worst.

According to him, Imam Fatty said: “Bakasu should be arrested and discipline during one of his preaching at state house”, and then I was arrested   for nine days, torture twice and my finger was broken at NIA in Banjul.

“Imam Fatty also disclosed to Yaya Jammeh that he Bakasu used to insult the Jola during his meeting with the president and the Supreme Islamic Council. All this to make Jammeh angry on him, “he said.

He said SIC leaders said that he cannot preach saying he is not learned; he cannot preach his preaching is all lies and he is the one who is causing the entire problem in this country.

He said that his preaching is hard of the truth if not true there will be a big problem by then citing that insulting somebody and mentioning names even insulting the president was not true.

According to him, he was reported by Lamin Touray the (S.I.C) leader and accused of been behind the problems in terms of citing the moon which led him banned from preaching   in this country.

“Before the Islamic council doesn’t have the power to stop Iman from preaching but Yahya later give them that power, he added.

He said Yahya Jammeh has been interfering since 1994 when he dissolved the first (S.I.C) after their term was ended saying that they do not do anything for this country.
