Former governor of Upper River Region describes Sering Ndigal type of religion as not Godly as he says the Sering used gather his followers in a mosque for dancing and druming.
Last week, Yunusa Ceesay a student of the marabout Sering Ndigal confessed before the probe that they don’t pray.
And Ganyi Touray is currently testifying before TRRC after he was accused of spearheading persecution against the ‘Ndigal’ sect in Ker Mot Ali in Upper Saloum.
“They do nothing but only dancing and eating with no pray and no religion will accept that. I can even produce a picture where I saw Sering Ndigal dancing while his followers drum inside the mosque because they say prayer is over,” he said.
According to Mr Touray, he as a Muslim will not allow such to happen in his region under his helm and stay mute over it.
Mr Touray, 70, said the police did not take orders from him when they stormed Ker Mot Ali. Essa Faal then played a video showing the former governor inside a mosque in Ker Mot Ali thanking police leaders in the region at the time for putting across all his instructions. Mr Touray then changed and said the police did take instructions from him.
Also, on the removal of the Seckens, Mr Touray in one instance said it targeted non-Gambians while his written statement made no indication of that.
At the end of it all, he declared while responding to whether he accepts personal responsibility in the state-sponsored terror against the Seckens: “No, I do not accept that.”
