“All eight opposition political parties that created coalition 2016 presidential candidate and government contributed to the current bad leadership of the current government. Even though others decided to pull out earlier but that still has not cleared their actions in contributing to the failure of current leadership in the country,” GAF leader Bakary Bunja Darboe pointed out.
He added: “The agreement to select a presidential candidate for the coalition government by the eight different political parties was mainly to select a candidate among them, who will stand for elections and after winning to serve as a transitional government leader that will make reforms to the country’s laws including institutions within a period of 3 three years before any conduct of proper elections.
Addressing thousands of GAF supporters in Brikama on Saturday, he said the three years agreement was a campaign promised that was put to people and signed by all eight coalition party members.
“In the agreement, the leaders take in to consideration the presidential candidate, the three years in office and reforms to the policies of former president Yahya Jammeh,” he said pointing that just within a year in office the agreement Gambians supported and voted was violated by those that draft, signed and agreed to it.
BB Darboe, as he is popularly known, revealed that Gambia For All party (GFA) was established as a result of the current political and economic situation that the country is facing and to address this, the government need the inclusion of all Gambian as people for the development of country.
He added that before forming GFA as a political party, the executive review the current the political situation of the country and the only way out for President Adama Barrow government is to change for the better for all Gambians.
