National Disaster Management Agency has laid down a foundation stone for 23-housing project in Kuntaur.
The D50million project which is supported by the Bin khalifa foundation through the UAE embassy, comprises building of 3 bridges of 3.2 km Flood Protection Dyke, 23 Self Contained, 2-bedroom lounge, kitchen, toilets and balcony.
It could be recalled that on 26th of August, 2017 the people of kuntaur encountered one of the most severe floods in which 85 households were affected.
National Disaster management Agency executive director Sana Dahaba contacted donors after a thorough assessment was done.
He solicited 1 million dollars for the project in which 23 victims were the most affected and identified as beneficiaries.
And prior to these other identified victims were assisted with food, clothing and cash. Through the help of philanthropist, the president, HE Adama Barrow, politicians and NGO’s.
