Illiasa monor health centre in Upper Badibou has benefitted a support from Kalilu Jammeh foundation and partners in Spain.
The support including medicament, bandages and other essential materials aimed at enhancing effective service delivery has been described the support as contributed immensely in strengthening health care service delivery for the catchment area.
The hospital assistant officer in charge, Joseph Jassey said the partnership over the years has strengthen their capacity to provide treatment to growing numbers of hypertension and diabetes patients within the catchment area and beyond.
Kalilu Jammeh, head of the foundation and wife Houminia Nubiola said the support to health is part of the Foundation commitment to complement Ministry of health.
According to him, hospital bed sheets and other materials worth 620 Euros equivalent to D34, 100 and noted that such type of support would be done twice in a year as agreed with partners in Spain and is part of normal assistance to health facility.
The Foundation expressed delight on the signing of Memorandum of Understanding that took place between the Ministry of Health and the Foundation, demonstrated government commitment to provide conducive space for partners in Spain to work with Health Ministry in improving health care services at Illiasa Minor Health Centre to make it more responsive to different ailments and improve health.
However, as part of an agreement of MOU in the future all support to the health sector being medicament, experts and training will be channel through Regional Health Directorate in Farafenni.
