Kalilu Foundation praised for supporting schools

Kalilu Jammeh foundation has poured heap of praise by two schools that have benefitted support from the foundation.

Few days ago, the charitable foundation handed material support to Yallal Tankonjala Lower Basic and Illiasa Basic Cycle Schools both in Upper Badibou.

And speaking in a voice interview after the handing over ceremony to the schools, Kalilu Jammeh and his Spanish wife Isatou Jammeh both expressed delight for giving support to schools in the country.

They assured continued commitment to giving support to schools especially orphanages in the country, as they said: “their ultimate objective is restoring human dignity and ensure affected children are enrolled at school.”

Meanwhile, Amadou Jallow, head teacher of Yallal Tankonjala Lower Basic said the support of vulnerable children has contributed to the attainment of education for all initiative, adding school bags, shoes, uniforms and payment of food to orphanage children has enable them to concentrate on their education.

Tamba Jammeh chairman of School Management Committee of Illiasa Basic School hailed the Foundation for not providing uniforms, school bags, shoes, cloths during Muslim festivities, football and rent bicycles for distance travel students to promote punctuality and performance. He assured of the SMC fullest support and collaboration to the school.

Lamin Dampha vice principal of Illiasa Basic Cycle School commended the donor in complementing Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in the quest of providing education for all. He noted that the support to orphanages has demonstrated the Foundation commitment of promoting fundamental human rights, citing access to education.

Vice Principal Dampha said donation of furniture for the second time has contributed to address furniture shortage that the school are faced with and contribute to improve learning and teaching.

Buya D Bah beneficiary student from Yallal Tankonjala said the support provided by Foundation Kalilu Jammeh has enabled her to reach at grade 9 and improve personal hygiene, citing regular supply of toothpaste, T Shirts, Pens and payment bicycles rent to students over the years contribute to completion of basic education cycle.
