The United Democratic Party and Gambia Democratic Party have giving a support of six hundred thousand dalasis to Basse market fire victims.
Gambia Democratic Party a day after the incidence gave a sum of D200,000 through their leader Mamma Kandeh. And United Democratic Party also two days after the incidence gave a sum of 400,000 through leader Ousainou Darboe.
Meanwhile, after several attempts to speak to the officials of the political parties on the development went unsuccessful.
On Monday a huge fire started tearing through Basse market claiming almost the entire market. However, cause of the fire is not yet established.
Business men and women scrambled back and forth as they tried to fight the fight. And few minutes later, fire fighters, and villagers joined the market men and women to fight back the fire.
