The main objective of the training was to get students learn the essential in and out of managing a project on arts and culture, understanding the copyright laws of The Gambia and the cultural policies from start to end.
The training in future will help students of this school understand area of focus when managing their work, especially projects work upon completion of their studies at the college.
One of the trainers, Sanna Jawara, Copyright Officers at National Centre for Arts and Culture made it clear to students that “copyright can generate revenue for Gambian creators through the payment of royalties.” Modou Lamin Sowe also a trainer noted that “The Gambia that is yet to come is going to be a Gambia of arts and culture.”
All along it has been a very interactive section that more students registered their interest in requesting for additional further training.
However, an overall training evaluation was conducted by the NCAC facilitators which were more comprehensive than the daily feedback collected from the participants.
This evaluation was intended to obtain the participants’ views about different aspects of the training –from the venue to the effectiveness and coverage of the topics, and from the trainer’s knowledge and preparedness to their overall impression of the whole experience.
