The community of Bakoteh Estate in partnership with Dairatul Jamatul Amma on Saturday held their annual Islamic conference. The Conference took place at Sunrise Educational Centre School.
The topic of the conference was centred on the role of a woman in Islam and the importance of neighbourhood interaction.
This was with the aim to create a very cordial relationship between the residents of the community and its surroundings as dictated by Islamic principles and beliefs.
Oustass Alhagie Jawara Nyan reminded the audience of the significant role women played in the pre-Islamic world and he challenged women to continue serving that role in the best interest of peace. He went further to advised women to instil in the minds of the children the concept of peace and discipline for better society.
Oustass Jawara preached the importance of love and unity among the neighbours and also reminded participants the possible punishments which await the person in the next world that’s those people that does not want to maintain peace with his/her neighbour.
This conference was attended by the members of the association as well as residents of Bakoteh and its surroundings
