Dozens of volunteers including Ndungu Kebbeh Benna Society of Lower Nuimi in collaboration with Village development Committee, Youths and Women cleaned the community of Ndungu Kebbeh as part of efforts to promoting sanitation in the country.
Ousman Drammeh President of the Association underscored the significant of keeping the community clean on a regular basis. He said due to huge waste generated on weekly day, poised the settlement to various health hazards and lauded the effort of all providing support and building ownership of maintaining the area clean.
He acknowledged great idea of late Bai Pateh Kebbeh the founder of the society and Amat Bah for their foresight in promoting unity in changing health of others.
Tijan Drammeh Public Relation Officer praised Oustass Ousman Kebbeh and Madoum Jallow for providing tractor and truck to facilitate collection of waste to designated dump site. He lauded the VDC for providing cleansing materials and the community for the high turnout.
Awa Jobe said the exercise will prevent people’s from developing disease, noting that waste produce over the weekend remain greatest concern for women
She uses the moment to call on Kerewan Area Council to prove waste collection bins and cleansing materials.
Amat Joof Chairman of Ndungu Kebbeh Youths Association noted that youths support to the development to protect lives and properties.
