Students Will Take Lessons Through Radios, Televisions… Says MoBSE

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on Friday said lessons for lower grades students will be broadcast on radio and television stations across the country in response to avoid losing contact hours during the 21 days of outside class break.

On Wednesday, the Ministry held an emergency summit to proffer solution on how to remedy loss of contact hours as schools already shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In circulated statement from MoBSE read “The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education wishes to inform the public especially parents, caregivers and students that starting Monday 23rd March 2020, radio and television stations all over the country will broadcast and air lessons between the hours of 10am to 12pm and 4pm- 6pm daily.”

“The Ministry urges parents and caregivers to help in monitoring children at home to ensure they do not only stay but to make best use of the time they stay out of school,” the statement concluded.

According to the Ministry, this initiative is taken to ensure that students are safe from COVID-19, whiles urged students to stay at home and benefit from teaching and learning sessions.
