Ministry of Health shuts Bundung Markaz Mosque

Ministry of Health has shut down the Bundung Markaz Mosque in Bundungkunda temporarily following the death of a Bangladeshi Islamic Preacher who was on preaching mission at the mosque but died of the deadly coronavirus pandemic on Sunday.

Despite government ban on public gatherings, closes of Schools and Universities, some people still violating the ban to gather for different events.

Modou Njai, director of health promotion said at the Ministry of Health said they are now going to enforce the law on everyone as a measure to control the pandemic.

“We are working with enforcement authorities to ensure the centre is temporary close,” he said in a news conference.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has also quarantined 12 people who came in contact with the Bangladeshi man.

On Sunday, the Ministry announced the demise of a Bangladeshi preacher who has died of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Director of Health Promotion also disclosed that another 3 Bangladesh national and 9 other associates of the decease are already in quarantine center.

He added that “the incident manager and team visited the Bundung Markaz Mosque immediately and the other 3 Bangladeshis national and 9 other associates are currently on quarantine.”
