The flag-bearer of the Gambia Action Party has suggested health workers to lead coronavirus sensitization campaign in an effort to further fight against the pandemic.

Lamin Bojang, an ex-army officer, said he believes that public sensitization on coronavirus pandemic should be mainly under the care of the public health officers because they are people who are already equipped on various health care matter.

In his observation on different ongoing sensitization and campaigns against the pandemic which he said many of the group are doing good jobs in term of by providing hand sanitizers including other sanitary materials, the fear is if all of them are well sensitized to sensitise other people.

He therefore recommended that sensitization should be led by officials from the Ministry of Health to safeguard public safety.

“This is a professional duty and since the outbreak of the virus people have started to panic because there is no one to allay their fears and we have health personnel who have already retired and they can be invited to join in the sensitisation group,” he added.
