4H Norge support affiliated Gambian NGO with sanitary materials in NBR and CRR to control COVID 19

In the quest to control spread of COVID 19 deadly virus, 4H Gambia a local NGO based in Farafenni on Tuesday presented 60 hand washing tanks and sanitizer to communities of North Bank Region and Central River Region, north and south as part of effort in complementing government efforts in the fight against global pandemic of combating COVID 19.

The beneficiaries include, 4H Youth clubs, Dara and crossing point at Kaur to Niamina.

The 4H Norway is supporting partners in The Gambia to ensure that the intervention communities are safe and practise hand washing. The Program Director acknowledged the unflinching support 4H Norway for their timely respond to global emergency in saving lives of farmers through adopting to change in practising personal hygiene and sanitation.

Speaking to The Voice Newspaper in its head office in Farafenni, Alieu Ceesay national director of 4H the Gambia described the significance to promote regular hand washing and obtain information from health workers, noting that the virus has no cure.

He challenged youths to lead community outreach talk to ensure people change their behaviour, practices social distancing and encourage hygiene and sanitation.

Fatou Bah administration and finance officer said as CSO their roles are important in the fight against global pandemic.

4H Gambia will make available hand washing tank at Kaur crossing point linking to Niamina, revealing that the organisation has also support Islamic school in Farafenni to help protect children and boost hygiene.

The presentation of sanitary materials would be accompanied by sensitisation. She calls on women to attach important to personal hygiene and avoid social gathering and reduce travel.

Safiatou Kanded Field Staff cluster hailed 4H Norway for the support and urged  women and youths to support in the fight against COVID19, noting that protection from virus would contribute to enhance food production and productivity.
