National Assembly Member for Wuli West has laid blame on fellow lawmakers for prolonging Friday’s Session before finally approved 45 days extension of the public State of Emergency against the government earlier sought 90 days.
Honourable Seedia Jatta said with the time that it took “the Committee to come up with the fantastic document, we should not have been here up to this time after agreeing that the document is fantastic. Our job is to review the document.”
He asked rhetorically when the people are going to develop “in this parliament and how we are going to refine our positive and procedure.”
Supporting his argument on the unnecessary overstaying at the National Assembly during the Session, he asked “Who (can) tell that we are not potential to carry the virus here? Who tells me that we cannot transfer the virus to each other here?”
He stated further that he was there at the National Assembly because of circumstance saying “I am here today because of this exceptional circumstance having to extend the State of Emergency, if it does (happen) again, I will not come here.”
