North Bank Region Football Association hands sanitary materials to regional taskforce

The North Bank Region Football Association has donated sanitary materials to the regional taskforce in help to fight against the deadly coronavirus. The donation was held at the regional administration office in Kerewan.

Abu Khan, Regional Football Chairman, said the support to the region was facilitated by the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) to help strengthen regional response to COVID-19.

He said due to outbreak of the pandemic all football and including street football was seized as a way to control the spread of COVID-19.

Ebrima Ceesay, vice chairman, said: “the suspension of regional league demonstrated GFF commitment to Welfare of people.”

He however expressed concern on low respond of youths to stop football and call on the Governor office to halt the unconcern behaviour of youths in the region.

Lamin S Jawara reiterated that there is need for the governors to ensure enforcement the State of Public Emergency. The behaviour of young people remains a greatest challenge and all efforts should be taken on board.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha of NBR hailed the North Bank Region Football Association for the foresight, noting that the support would help youths to promote hygiene among themselves.

He said the task force would help in resource mobilization and strengthen the capacity to respond to people that are in dire need of support.

Njaga Khan regional community development officer also made remarks at the handing over ceremony.
