Opposition All Peoples Party (APP) in its efforts to compliment government efforts on Tuesday 8th April 2020 donated sanitary materials to various communities in the West Coast Region.
Addressing his party volunteer team on COVID-19 party leader Alhagi Gumbo Ali Touray stated the donation is in respond the Gambian leader Adama Barrow calls on all political party support his government efforts as a nation to fight coronavirus as a team , revealing his party is ready to partner with the government.
According to hi, its only coming together that can help stop the spread of the coronavirus, stressing that Gambians need to together in order to fight COVID19.
Touray pointed out that for now a committee is found to defeat Covid-19, soliciting the support of all and sundry in cash or kind to enable the team to carry its mandate by donating mask, gloves, sanitizer, bleach, soap and buckets.
“We are appealing to all to put hands on deck to defeat our common enemy. It’s also rewarding to announce that people have already started submitting their names for the initiative, God bless every one,” he noted.
The team under the leadership of Ebou Gaye went on to Madiana, Manduar, Wellingara Cinema, Sinchu Alhagi, Sanyang, Banyaka, Daru Busumbala and Burfut.
In Madiana, the Alkalo commended the team for their valuable contribution to the fight against COVID-19. He said other communities were very happy with the gesture and assured them that the items will be used accordingly.
