Kerr Omar Saine Foundation Donates Food Items worth D156, 000

Kerr Omar Saine Foundation on Friday donated 95 bags of 50 kilos rice and 48 gallon of 20 litres of cooking oil worth D156, 550 residents of Kerr Omar.

The UK branch of Kerr Omar Saine Family also presented Ramadan sugar of 46 bags worth D61, 250.

In the same development, Alagie Lowe  donated two  bags of sugar and PA system to Kerr Omar.be use for annual recitation of holy Quran and 50 cartons of dates from Alagie Taib Cham in the  UK to the people’s as part of measure to fight  COVID19 in the  villagers. The presentation was held at Kerr Omar Saine of Jokadou in the North Bank Region.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha and who double as chairperson of regional taskforce on COVID19 Emergency commended the community of Kerr Jarga Foundation and Kerr Omar Saine foundation for the donation in complementing government efforts during public health emergency.

He urged Gambians to do away with tribalism and embrace nationalism. He tasks other communities to emulate the initiative taken by foundations in Kerr Jarga and Kerr Omar Saine in giving back to their peoples.

Chief Matarr Gaye of Jokadou said the support provided by the foundation would help to respond and control the spread of virus. The solidarity by the foundation showcases the commitment of unity among the peoples.

Chief Gaye called on the people’s to be law abiding and uphold to messages provided by ministry of health and WHO.

Alh. Mustapha Saine alkalo of Kerr Omar Saine commended the foundation for the support by providing much needed food assistance at this trying time.

He also said the support by the citizens demonstrated their commitment to mobilize resources to respond to the needs of households.

He disclosed that women are united and provide assistance to needy women to enable support their families and assured of their fullest support to fight against COVID19 implementation measure by the government.

Alh. Modoulamin Cham community elder echoed similar sentiment and said the support is timely as people’s are preparing for Ramadan and most importantly supplement household food security at this difficult moment. He called on the people to unite and support the development needs of the community.

Matty Saine President of foundation also underscored their commitment to improve the lives of people’s and with the objective to complement government efforts in the fight against COVID19.

Aja Rohey Cham women leader expressed delight on the commitment of the foundation in promoting unity and cooperation in assisting the community on yearly basis.

Aja Gass Lowe lady Councillor Jokadou said the food assistance would help families to stay and adopt safety measures to control the spread of virus.

“The food assistance would contribute to promote peace and stability in the search to content the spread of COVID,” she said.
