Taf Africa Global has given a cheque for D200, 000 to Banjul Relief Initiative in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Gambia, held at the Mayor chamber in Banjul City Council.
Speaking at the presentation, Banjul City Council Mayor Mayoress Rohey Malick Lowe called on the government to help Banjulian saying “because Banjul is where the office of the president is and he is there neighbor so they definitely want him to join the relief initiative.”
She also urged other stakeholders to emulate from Taf Africa Global and other stakeholders to combat covid-19 pandemic since Banjul cannot do all.
Mustapha Njie, chief executive officer of TAF global Africa, said: “it is important to stand by the Banjulians by giving them helping hand and the entire country should also contribute their quarter in fight against covid-19 which has currently affected the whole world.”
According to him, his office was waiting on the central government to lead for the fellow because the central government is who they work with, but they have been waiting on them for quite a long time and they never show up that is why they start working by contributing their quarter in helping BCC.
“I am doing this presentation to help those staying at home so that everyone can have what to feed on during this pandemic,” he said.
Meanwhile other donors’ incudes, The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry who donates D200.000, Abdou Njie a business man from Empire and Busura Holding in Banjul also present a cheque of D75.000, Prime Insurance Company Limited D50.000 and Gun Shot hunting Society also presented an amount of D20.000 cash during the presentation.
