Muhammed Manjang, Managing Director of Social Security and Housing Finance Cooperation (SSHFC) has been removed as head of the country’s housing cooperation and redeployed to the Senegalo-Gambia permanent Secretariat.

The redeployment made by the Gambian President Adama Barrow has also seen series of changes to positions of some government senior civil service sectors including parastatal.

The SSHFC’s former boss Manjang in 2018 faced a rigid opposition that was against leadership as head of the Cooperation, a huge campaign by the staff was launched against his leadership style.

Still in 2018, Manjang was put under a three-month administrative leave following the President set up panel meant to investigate the claims lodged against him by his staff.

Again in the same year, he was bounced back to his position as head of the institution after the end of the investigations. The outcome of the investigations witnessed the sack of the staff’s leader following the campaign he led against the then Managing Director, Muhammed Manjang, who is now removed and redeployed to another sector.

The Voice in an attempt to reach Muhammed Manjang for details via telephone call has proved futile up till the time of press.
