Kalilu Jammeh Foundation gives foodstuff to 23 families

As part of their second phase food aid gesture, the Kalilu Jammeh Foundation yesterday gave some foodstuffs to twenty-three vulnerable families in North Bank Region to ease their burden amid of the coronavirus pandemic.

The beneficiaries included some families from Farafenni and Kubandar villages in Uppper Badibou, NBR.Kalilu Jammeh, founder commended its partners in Spain for providing humanitarian assistance in response to the needs of vulnerable families amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He noted that his foundation has distributed twenty bags of onions and twenty-three bags of 50kg rice to the vulnerable, while lamented on the Covid-19 effect on the economy and business community.

FatouSamuray, a beneficiary from Alkali Kunda described the support to have brought joy of relief to her and her family. Among other assistance, she said the foundation has also supported orphans in all sectors and this she disclosed has restored human dignity and security.

Alagie Touray from Farafenni said Covid-19 has seriously affected small businesses and the opening of non-essential food items shops began operating between 2 to 6pm has reduced income and exposed some households to food insecurity.

Emmanuel Gomez one of the officials of the foundation also commented on the presentation.
