All Peoples Party [APP] has given relief package of sugar and sanitary materials to 13 villages. But the party doesn’t confirm the number of the gesture.
The beneficiary villages include Jokadu, Saloum, and the Niamina districts respectively.
And the party’s Covid-19 taskforce team led Ebou Gaye visited Sambakala, Ndungu Kebbeh, Kerr Omar Saine, Kerr Jarga Jobe, Kaur car park, Maaka Njanneh,Bati Ndarr, Sey Kunda, Kerr Babou Jobe, Tati Mile,Amdalai in Niamina and Mamud Fana.
In Ndugu Kebeh village, t Ebou Gaye, commended APP’s intervention in supporting the people is crucial; especially during the month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan has always brought together our common values of kindness, charity and service to others,” he said.
Mr Gaye said the need for people to adhere to precautionary measures such as maintaining social distancing and hand washing, to keep us safe.
“As we prepare for difficult times ahead, the All Peoples Party will remain in close dialogue with the Gambian people to make sure that important requirements and behaviors are fully understood in their response to the corona virus disease pandemic,” he said.
Mr Begi Saine of Ndungu Kebbeh expressed delight about the gesture, saying it has come at the right time as he praised APP for sharing with and caring about the people.
The Alkalo of Sey Kunda however asked in assistance of water pump for the village from the party, adding “one serving them had a breakdown and the only means of getting water in the village is hand drawn.”
Ebra Ceesay of Mamud Fana village believes that APP is complementing government’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19.
He warned that the viral disease is real and called on people to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s advice and guidelines.
Amat Njie and Sara Nyass of Mamud Fana village too applauded the APP for thinking about them in this difficult and trying times, and assured of fair equitable distribution of the donation in the community.
