Sulayman Waan

The residents of Raneru village in the Sami District, Central River Region (CRR) have complained of the poor condition of their 8 kilometers feeder road that links Laminkoto/Passamas highway to Karantaba Health Center, Bansang Hospital/administrative town of Janjangbureh.

Sheriff Sallah, chairman of Raneru Village Youth Development (RVYD) descried this feeder road as the worst road in the region, which everyone finds very difficult to travel through.
“Sometimes we prefer to walk to the highway than boarding on horse carts or vehicles because the road is too bad,” he lamented.

He appealed to government to construct this road because it s the only road that residents of Raneru village and the satellite communities use to access the Karantaba Health Center.
Speaking further, he said sick people and pregnant women always find it tedious to reach the health facility on time as a result of its poor condition.

Alhaji Adama Talla, chairman for the Village Development Committee (VDC) told this reporter that the road is worst during the rainy season.

“The road used to contain stagnant water in the rainy season and this always makes many people not to travel on it when it is rainy season,” he said.

Sainabou Camara, another resident of the village shared similar view on the road.
Meanwhile, Ebrima Sowe, Councilor for Karantaba Ward of Sami District disclosed said he is working with the central government to make sure that the feeder roads in his ward are constructed
