At least sixty-six Imams have received food aid from Brikama Association.
The food aid received by the imams included bags of rice, sugar and gallons of oil. The presentation of items was held at the town’s central mosque.
Ebrima Cham, Country Coordinator for the association expressed gratitude to the association members for taken a bold step to help their people back home while they are outside the shore of the country especially in a time like this when the country needs more help.
Each Imam was received a bag of rice, sugar with D200 cash as transport fare, while he assured them of the Brikama Association’s continuous support to them.
Oustaz Wuyeh Njie, public relations officer for Brikama Association commended the donors for helping the Imams without previous approach or request to the association especially in this difficult time when the country has recorded some cases on coronavirus pandemic.
According to Brikama association in New York has been doing such in previous years in Brikama, noting that, these donated items will go a long way in reducing hardships during this time.
Pa Modou Bojang, the association’s chairman also expressed delight. “This is not the first time we are doing this; we have been doing this every year,” he said.
In similar vein the association also gave 13 bags of rice, 5 bags of sugar to radio stations in the region which the chairman said he will distribute to the vulnerable people in the community.
