Haddy Nyang-Jagne Boost Kanifing Hospital with Covid-19 items

The former National Assembly Member for Jeshwang who one time doubled as the first President of ECOWAS Female Parliamentarian Association (ECOFEPA) on Friday boosted Kanifing General Hospital with Covid-19 items.

Honorable Haddy Nyang-Jagne’s contribution to national development during her two term in office as NAM for Jeshwang earned her the respect and reward of naming after her “Accident and Emergency Ward” at Kanifing General Hospital.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony held at the hospital conference hall, the Administrative Officer at the hospital, Baboucar M.A. Saine hailed the donor for her timely donation.

Mr. Saine on behalf of the hospital management expressed his delight to the donor which he informed that the partnership between Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne started during her tenure as Jeshwang representative.

“Accident and Emergency Ward which was named after Hon. Nyang-Jagne is the Ward where emergency cases are reported first and her donation to the hospital cannot go unnoticed by the ministry of Health,” Mr. Saine stated.

According to Mr. Saine, former Jeshwang lawmaker did this to save the lives of Gambians and non-Gambians residing in the country and he described the donor as one of the hospital patrons for the past years.

Saine reiterated that the items will real help the hospital in protecting their staff when they are on active services, thus stressing that the hospital is the biggest hospital in KM and second in the country.

Presenting the items to the hospital Administrative Officer on behalf of Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne, her sister, Jainaba Nyang said Gambia is grip by Coronavirus pandemic for the past months.

“This was why Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne with support from her husband Mr. Kara Jagne and her family members decided to contribute her part by donating PPEs to the hospital,” Madam Nyang explained.
She informed that during Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne’s tenure as NAM for Jeshwang, her ECOWAS Female Parliamentarian colleagues during one of their meetings in Banjul visited the Ward named after her at Kanifing General Hospital.

While serving at ECOWAS she continued, Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne was praised for her diligent service to the ECOWAS Community and she also doubled as the rapporteur of that committee throughout the two terms she served at the community parliament.

According to Madam Jainaba Nyang, Hon. Nyang-Jagne’s overriding objective is to make a difference to people lives which remains the ultimate consideration in her time in public life and public services.
