Sheikh Tijan Sarr, Manager of Center for Street Student and Care Trafficking has called for help after his library was robbed. The robbery happened on Saturday.
Center for Street Student and Care Trafficking library is located in Bakoteh and it serves the community and helps hundreds of students in their research work and studies.
Mr Sarr told The Voice in an exclusive interview that when he opened the door surprisingly he saw all the closed cupboards wide open and destroyed. He described the theft as terrible and horrible and confirmed reporting the matter at the police station.
According to him, Center for Street Student has been a very beneficial environment for the students especially the vulnerable ones,” because many of them do come here to read and do their assignment peacefully.”
“Now that this has happened to our only office, and we as an NGO are very vulnerable that’s why we seeking for help from individuals or government because their assistance will be very helpful so that the destroyed things will be put to repaired,” he added.
He however said there was no money in the office it was only books and other essential learning equipment.
He said: “I can’t really tell if something was stolen in the office but the robbers destroyed so many things which is why we are seeking for help to repair them and the office is located at Bakoteh Layout.”
