 GTBank D200, 000.00 to BMCHH

GTBank, has donated a cheque amounting to two hundred thousand dalasi (D200, 000.00) to Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

The donation was part of the GTBank corporate social responsibility to give back to the community.

The donation was attended by senior staff of the GTBank, led by the Managing Director, as well as senior staff of the Hospital.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Ivan Coker Administrator at Bundung maternal and Child Health Hospital, expressed delight to be associated with this very important presentation of a cheque amounting to two hundred thousand dalasi to the hospital.

He said the disbursement of this fund was part of the memorandum of Understanding between our two institutions GTBank and BMCHH as support for the Pediatric Unit of Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

He cited that this presentation marks the culmination of goodwill intentions that would serve as catalyst for good health outcomes especially paediatric cases in Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

According to him, the said hospital had benefited immensely from financial made by Guaranty Trust Bank to BMCHH and this has changed the face of BMCHH, and in return has contributed  in improving the quality of care services offered, thus  realizing better health outcomes in the paediatric ward.

He also stated that the  management and staff of BMCHH  is greatly encouraged by your physical presence  on this  auspicious and memorable occasion , as it serve  to booster our efforts as a public health institution to take a lead role in setting the pace in health care service delivery .

For his part, Managing Director /CEO , GTBank Adesina Adebesin first and fire most commended  all the health workers  in this country and elsewhere for the sacrifice you have been taking and continue to make in the fight against the corona virus pandemic.

We at GTBank are also playing our part in the fight against covid19. He added that as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff.

He said the Bank have put in place some of the following measure across our branches, thus relentless and continuous cleaning of our works surfaces and common areas throughout the day.

“Secondly sensitization  of the importance of washing hands thoroughly with soap at slightest  opportunity  and after toilet use, and availability of hand sanitizers and gloves for use by our staff when in contract with cash, as well as creation of awareness of strict adherence to the social distancing precautions of keeping  at least 1meter distance from each other,” he said.

He added: “we at GTBank encourage our customers to take advantage of our mobile app, 7373USSD mobile banking service, ATMs and; POS terminals and our internet platform just in a few.”

He said the hospital is one of the beneficiaries of our numerous corporate Social Responsibility interventions.

We believe that every child has the right to access and to enjoy quality care services.

He added that this has encouraged us to adapt the Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital Pediatric Ward 4 years ago and to provide D200,000.00 annually  for the upkeep of the ward. “We hope this token enhanced the service delivery of the ward.

Also speaking the Chief Executive Officer BMCHH Kebba Manneh said since the inception of this hospital in 2000 has been partnering with GTBank.

He said GTBank was the only Bank that this hospital has been working.

He said the partnership started a long ago, when it was very difficult for the Gambia, to even accept most of the foreign Banks.

He therefore GTBank support is known and this is the fourth time that the Bank had been supporting the hospital. He commended the Managing Director and his staff for the support toward this hospital, saying this is  a clear indication that GTBank is not only a profit making entity but also out to support our community.

He also appealed to Management of the Bank through the Managing Director to renew the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions.
