Wuli Delegation Association, a local group, has threatened a legal action against Amadou Gagigo who they alleged of stealing their animals.
But Mr Gagigo who is believe to be livestock dealer couldn’t be reached for comments.
The association however said it will file a petition against the accuse on October 8th, 2020, at the Banjul High Court. Members of the association are also calling on people of Wuli to turn out in their numbers on the day of filing the petition to express their displeasure.
Saibeh Nasso, a member of the association, alleged: “we should go to court and show our concern about how Amadou used to steal our livestock with impunity. We should all come out on that day to show our concern and hand over the petition.”
Mariama Singhateh also a member, lamented that they are scared of rampant stealing of their ruminants (animals).
“These have affected women who are engaging in animal husbandry a lot,” she said.
She noted that police in the region are not doing enough to curb the issues as cases have been reported to them but to no avail.
