Dodou Jah, deputy spokesman for opposition party, APRC, has said his party will never back an incompetent government.
Mr Jah’s comment comes as a result of claims of an alleged coalition between the APRC and NPP.
He said most of the Ministers in President Barrow’s cabinet are incompetent and the country needs a cabinet reshuffle now more than ever.
He further explained that, President Barrow’s government does not have Gambia’s interest and the backing of APRC would mean that his party does not have Gambia at heart either.
While shutting down APRC/NPP coalition rumours, Jah disclosed that his party has so far been approached by three other political parties for coalition talks but says nothing has been decided.
He said this is a clear indication that the APRC is very much alive and kicking, contrary to believe that the party is irrelevant and out of the race.
Taking a dig at the NPP, Dodou Jah said the newly formed party is a desperate one. Jah said it is clear by now that the NPP’s only target is the members of the APRC.
“Whilst many political analysts believed that no single political party will be able to win the next elections on their own, APRC believes no political party will be able to do it without their backing,” he added.
“Come 2021 APRC will be the decider. Any party we join or form an alliance with will form the government,” Jah said.
