Basic education minister has applauded the school administration, teachers and students for abiding the Covid-19 rules within their school premises.
Minister Claudiana Cole was speaking to school authorities and their teachers following her toured of schools in Regions 5, 6 and 2 meant to assess the ongoing classes for grade 9, observe Covid-19 measures and also to see for herself the turn-out of grade 12 students in schools.
“The schools I visited were all going find when it comes to Covid-19 health measures which is social and physical distancing, availability of Covid-19 PPE in schools, each student to a table, teachers, students and other employees within the school to respect Covid-19 health precautions,” Minister Cole said.
Minister Cole highlighted the significant of wearing Face Mask in public which she said is to be safe from contaminating Covid-19 virus thus also to avoid others around you coming into contact with the virus.
“I appreciate the way things are going in schools. You are doing a great work and continue with the good spirit because Covid-19 is a global problem and to fight the virus need collective efforts from all and sundry,” basic education minister Cole explained.
Madam Cole expressed her happiness for the turn-out of grade 12 students in Region 2 despite the fact that they were away from schools for almost three-months as a result of coronavirus pandemic.
Minister Claudiana A. Cole and team visited thirteen (13) Upper Basic Schools in Regions 5 and 6 and on Wednesday seven (7) Senior Secondary Schools in Region 2 respectively.
